INVESTIGATORS ARREST TWO ON FELONY DRUG CHARGES

Two people were arrested Friday, July 27th, after authorities went to the residence of 163 Sandstone Circle on an investigation. When officers with the Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Home Police Department, and the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections arrived at the residence, a female, later identified as CHERIE KELLEY, was seen to be attempting to push a syringe down the kitchen sink.
Officers entered the residence and conducted a search. Officers also found KENNETH H. POWELL III at the residence. During the search, officers found approximately 4.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, scales, and baggies commonly used for the distribution of methamphetamine. A glass smoking pipe was also found, as was a small amount of hashish. Both persons were taken into custody and transported to the Detention Center.
KENNETH H. POWELL III, 51 years old of Mountain Home, was charged with:
Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose of Delivery – Felony
Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose of Delivery –
Misdemeanor.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
POWELL was released after posting bond in the amount of $15,000, and he will appear in Circuit Court on August 16th.
CHERIE MICHELLE KELLEY, 29 years old of Yellville, was charged with:
Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Revocation of Suspended Sentence – Felony
Probation Violation – District Court Misdemeanor
KELLEY has a bond of $5,000 on her new criminal charges, but she remains in custody on holds for the Revocation and Probation Violation.
