SHERIFF'S OFFICE RESPONDS TO UNATTENDED DEATH OF BAXTER COUNTY MAN

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the unattended death of a 39 year old Baxter County resident at Peal’s Resort, 9582 Highway 5 South in Salesville. Authorities were notified at approximately 9:00 AM this morning of an unconscious man at that location. Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene.
Responders found Gregory Almond, who resided at the resort, deceased at that location. A neighbor found Mr. Almond this morning after going to check on him. He was last seen at approximately 4:00 PM Thursday afternoon. There are indications that the death may be related to health issues. There were no indications of foul play observed. The Baxter County Coroner’s Office was called to the location to take possession of the body.
The body of the deceased will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock to determine the cause of death. The investigation will remain open pending a preliminary report from the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
