MIDWAY MAN ARRESTED FOR FAIL TO COMPLY WITH SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION LAW
12/02/2011
Marcus Wayne Hill
MARCUS WAYNE HILL, 29 years old of Midway, was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies today on a felony charge of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Laws.
HILL had previously registered as a sex offender with the City of Mountain Home and was previously residing at 301 Bomber Boulevard. To law enforcement’s knowledge, HILL was still residing there. However, this morning the Sheriff’s Office was notified by an officer with the Department of Community Corrections that MARCUS WAYNE HILL was no longer living in Mountain Home but had moved approximately one month ago to the Midway Oaks Mobile Home Park at 7108 Highway 126 North, Apt #2 in Midway. This change in address was not reported to law enforcement.
Arkansas law requires sex offenders to report any changes in residence or employment in person to the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction. When changing residence, this notification must be in writing and signed by the offender no later than ten (10) days before the offender establishes the new residence. MARCUS WAYNE HILL did not register with the Sheriff’s Office as required by these provisions of the law. He was arrested this morning by Corporal Elliott and incarcerated in the Detention Center at approximately 11:00 AM. He has since been released on bond with a court appearance set for December 8th in Baxter County Circuit Court.
