Cotter Man Charged with Domestic Battery on Pregnant Wife
At approximately 12:10 am, Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputies and Cotter Police responded to a 911 call at 317 McLean in Cotter, Arkansas. The caller stated they could see a man threatening his wife with a shotgun. When deputies arrived, the suspect ran into his residence. Officers found a Mossberg 20 gauge pump shotgun in the yard in the area where the suspect was observed. The shotgun had three shells in it, with one in the chamber.
The suspect was located and after further investigation, 22 year old Christopher Dean Wake, was taken into custody without incident. His wife, who is pregnant, sustained injuries but did not seek medical attention.
Officers found paperwork at the scene which showed a Missouri conviction in May 2011 for Battery involving Wake’s ex-girlfriend.
Christopher Dean Wake is charged with:
Domestic Battery 3rd Degree
Enhancement due to victim being pregnant Class D Felony
Assault on a Family Member Class A Misdemeanor
Wake’s Bond was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. His bond was set at $25,000 pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on November 10 at 9 am.
The investigation is continuing with more charges possible.
