Cody B. Stradford Megan C. Amirr
Two rural Mountain Home residents have been arrested on Felony Theft of Property charges following an investigation into a theft that was reported on October 28th from 639 W. Main Street in Gassville. The victim told Deputy Doug Meurer that he observed 23 year old Megan C. Amirr stealing a Winchester model 94 rifle with a scope, together with two more scopes that were in the case. An LGTracfone was also stolen, and the victim later discovered that a ring and bracelet were missing as well. The collective value of these items was estimated at $5,000.00. The victim attempted to pursue Megan Amirr when he saw her, but she made good her escape.
The follow up was assigned to Investigator Eric Neal. Investigator Neal checked area pawn shops and found where another person, 26 year old Cody B. Stradford, had taken two of the rifle scopes to a Mountain Home pawn shop and sold them for $50.00. One of these scopes had been affixed to the rifle when it was stolen. Stradford has a previous conviction for a felony offense, thereby making him ineligible to possess or handle a firearm. The stolen ring had also been sold to another pawn shop for $150.00.
Arrested were:
