BAKERSFIELD, MISSOURI MAN CHARGED WITH FELONY THEFT

A Bakersfield, Missouri man has been arrested on a charge of Felony Theft of Property following an investigation into some jewelry and other items reported missing from a home in the rural Mountain Home area on October 24th.
The victim reported to Deputy Doug Meurer that multiple items of jewelry were discovered missing from the home, including wedding rings and necklaces, as well as a crossbow, all of which were collectively valued at $6,000. The victim suspected that a family member was responsible for the thefts. The victim believed that some of the stolen property had been pawned or sold to a Mountain Home pawn shop, which was later confirmed by investigators.
Sheriff’s Investigators interviewed the named suspect, and the suspect confessed to the thefts. RUSSELL EVANS YOUNG, 33 years old of Bakersfield, Missouri, was arrested on a Felony charge of Theft of Property. He was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and incarcerated pending the posting of $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on November 3rd.
