Tyler Lawrence Ackroyd, 18 years old of Clarkridge is in custody at the Baxter County Detention Center after being charged with Burglary, Breaking or Entering, and Theft charges stemming from three separate incidents.

On August 10, 2011, Sheriff’s Deputy Douglas Meurer took a complaint of a break in and theft from an address on Landry Lane in Clarkridge.  The victim stated his vehicle had been entered into as well as a storage shed on the property.  Items stolen included a satellite radio from the vehicle, a craftsman 260 piece mechanics tool set, box of screwdrivers, marine battery, 5 gallon air compressor, and two 12 inch speakers.  These items were collectively valued at approximately $775.00.

On the same date, Deputy Meurer took a second report from Landry Lane about a second vehicle being broken into and a Glock .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol being stolen.

Several days later, the first victim was contacted by a third party who told him there was a young man attempting to sell an XM radio and a handgun on Facebook.  The identity of the person attempting to make the sale was discovered.

On August 14, 2011, Sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Munson responded to a burglary call on Homestead Lane near Gassville involving the theft of a laptop computer valued at $600 and approximately $10 in loose change.  Entry into the residence had been forced through the back door.  Witnesses observed two suspects, one of which had a pistol and struck one of the witnesses in the head with it when the witness attempted to detain the suspect, with both suspect then fleeing from the area.

Sheriff’s Investigator Drayton McDaniel developed suspects in these crimes, including Tyler Lawrence Ackroyd.  Investigators used the evidence they had gathered to procure warrants of arrest for Tyler Ackroyd for his involvement in these three incidents, as well as for a co-defendant in the August 14th burglary on Homestead Lane, identified as Chad A. McDaniel, Jr. (see separate press release for him).
