Man Arrested After Selling Stolen Boat Motor to Undercover Deputy

A Mountain Home man, 58 year old Jerry Wayne Muncy, was arrested at approximately 3:30 pm after he attempted to sell a stolen boat motor to an undercover Baxter County Sheriff's Deputy.
Gassville Police notified Baxter County Sheriff's Investigators they had learned of a man who was attempting to sell a boat motor that was allegedly stolen. A female Sheriff's Deputy, wearing an electronic wire, posed as a potential buyer and arranged to purchase the motor for cash. The undercover Deputy met with the suspect and verifying the Mercury Motor, Officers from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office and Mountain Home Police arrested the suspect without incident in the Harps Plaza Shopping Center. The stolen Mercury Boat Motor was recovered from the back of the suspect's SUV.
Jerry Wayne Muncy was arrested and admitted to Sheriff's Investigators he had taken the motor from the back of a boat at a local boat dock. Muncy was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and charged with:
Breaking or Entering Class D Felony
Theft of Property Class C Felony
Jerry Wayne Muncy posted bond of $5,000 and was released. He is to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on June 23 at 9 am.
