Philip William Rasmussen has been captured in Clark County, Ohio

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office has learned that Arkansas fugitive, 50 year old Philip William Rasmussen, has been captured in Clark County, Ohio. Rasmussen was arrested without incident by the Ohio State Police, in Springfield, Ohio last Friday, April 1, 2011. He is currently being held awaiting extradition back to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Rasmussen had walked away from the McCrory Clinic on March 25. The McCrory Clinic is a non-secure facility in McCrory, Arkansas, located in Woodruff County. McCrory is located approximately 50 miles to the Northwest of West Memphis. Rasmussen had served approximately 3 ½ years of his 15 year sentence when he was paroled to the McCrory Clinic.
Rasmussen was sentenced in Baxter County Circuit Court by Judge John Putman on July 12, 2007 to serve a period of confinement in the Arkansas Department of Corrections of 15 years on a felony charge of Battery in the Second Degree. The charge resulted from an altercation in the Detention Center on January 30, 2007 when Rasmussen attacked another jail inmate, Howard Johnson, causing injuries to him.
