Cotter Man Arrested for Fogering Checks and Cashing Them

A 27 year old Cotter, Arkansas man has been arrested for Felony Forgery and four other misdemeanor warrants after an investigation by the Baxter County Sheriff's Office.
The victim notified Baxter County Authorities that he had four (4) checks that had been written on his account and his signature had been forged. An investigation revealed that two checks had been written to local businesses and the other two checks had been written and cashed by the suspect. A fifth check had been written but the suspect was unsuccessful in getting it cashed. The four (4) checks that were passed totaled more than $210.
The suspect was located at a residence after a tip by a private citizen. He was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies without incident.
Matthew Edison Tillery, age 27 of Cotter Arkansas, has been charged with:
Forgery 2nd Degree Class C Felony
Warrant-Failure to Appear Baxter County
Warrant-Failure to Appear Mountain Home PD
Warrant-Contempt of Court Gassville PD
Warrant-Contempt of Court Cotter PD
Matthew Tillery is currently being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on Bond totaling $7,528.00. His court date on the Forgery Case is schedule in Baxter County Circuit Court for January 6, 2010.
