This woman had been looking on the Baxter County Sheriff's web site and saw another woman she knows in her area who had an outstanding arrest warrant. The caller provided precise and detailed information as to the whereabouts of the wanted person. Sheriff Montgomery contacted the Sheriff's Office in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana and provided them with the information.
This afternoon, Baxter County received word that the wanted person had been located and arrested in Louisiana by authorities there. AMY ANN LEAR, 42 years old and currently residing in Louisiana, was arrested by deputies of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office in Covington, Louiaiana on a felony charge of REVOCATION of a suspended sentence on an original conviction for Breaking or Entering, Theft of Property, and Criminal Trespass. The warrant had been issued on September 21, 2010. AMY ANN LEAR is being held without bail pending her extradition and return to Baxter County.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office extends its appreciation to the Louisiana authorities involved in the arrest, and also acknowledges the value and importance of the "citizen tip", which made the arrest possible.
