Man Hunt Captures Fugitive and Discovery of Meth Lab

A 33 year old Norfork man was arrested following a man hunt by the Baxter County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
At approximately 10 am, authorities in Izard County developed information as to the location of a 33 year old Amos Louis Parnell. The information stated that Parnell and a female acquaintance were at a residence on Sheid Road, West of Norfork. Parnell was wanted for misdemeanor warrants from both Baxter County and Mountain Home and a Felony Failure to Appear Warrant from Washington County.
Due to Parnell's past history, Deputies from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, Officers from the Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 Team surrounded the residence on Sheid Road. Assisted by the Sheriff's Helicopter, entry was made into the residence without incident. The female acquaintance of Amos Parnell was located at the residence. Cooperating with authorities, the female provided information as to the whereabouts of Parnell in a remote wooded area. Officers and Deputies responded to that location at the end of Rodney Road in the Jordan, Arkansas area. Officers from the Arkansas Department of Corrections located Parnell in a heavy wooded area and took into custody without incident.
After taking Amos Parnell into custody, Investigators found a working Methamphetamine Lab in the woods along with numerous chemicals and a quantity of processed Methamphetamine. Due to the size and composition of the lab, an EPA certified cleanup crew was contacted to come to the scene and clean up the Methamphetamine Lab.
Amos Louis Parnell was booked into the Baxter County Detention and charged with:
Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine Class Y Felony
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine Class C Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Class C Felony
The bond for these charges were set at $50,000
Parnell is also being held for
Baxter County-Failure to Appear, Failure to Pay Fines Bond $410
Mountain Home-Failure to Appear, Speeding, No Tags Bond $270
Washington County, Arkansas-Failure to Appear, Attempt of Manufacture Methamphetamine Bond $100,000
The investigation is continuing with the possibility of more charges being filed.
