SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES DEATH OF MOUNTAIN HOME AREA MAN

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 24 year old Mountain Home man. At approximately 7:50 AM this morning, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a 911 call received from 283 Garden Terrace in rural Mountain Home reporting a man possibly deceased at the residence.
Sheriff’s Deputies and medical first responders were dispatched, with Corporal Michael Holland arriving at 7:58 AM. Medical personnel determined the victim, identified as George Thomas Doughty, was deceased.
Two other persons at the residence told deputies that the victim had been drinking heavily last evening and had been assisted back inside the residence from the back deck at about 1:00 AM. He was found unresponsive on the couch this morning when the 911 call was placed.
Sheriff’s Investigator Brad Hurst and the Baxter County Coroner’s Office are conducting the investigation. The victim is being sent to the state Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy. There is no evidence of foul play at this time.
