HIGH SPEED MOTORCYCLE PURSUIT ENDS WITH ARREST

11/27/2023

Justice Jacob Vasquez

A Salesville man, 28 year old JUSTICE JACOB VASQUEZ, was arrested early Saturday morning, November 25th, after leading Sheriff's Deputies on a high speed chase on a racing-type motorcycle.

Sheriff's Deputy Conner Stanton had been informed that VASQUEZ was preparing to leave an address on Highway 5 South on a motorcycle and that his driver's license was suspended. The motorcycle was said to be registered to another person who did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his license.   Deputy Stanton observed a man on the motorcycle in question pulling onto the roadway and heading South bound on Highway 5.  Deputy Stanton pulled behind to follow.  The motorcycle operator turned on Rossi Road and then to the U. S. Highway 62/412 Bypass, proceeding West.  Deputy Stanton was able to read the license plate on the motorcycle and confirmed that the registered owner did not possess a motorcycle endorsement.

The motorcycle operator continued West on the bypass to West Hwy 62 B, then drove back into town going East on Hwy 62 B.  Deputy Stanton attempted to initiate a stop on the motorcycle for the driver license violations at approximately 2:29 AM.  The operator of the motorcycle accelerated away at high speed and made many turns on various roadways in Mountain Home, including 9th Street, Bryant Street, Cynthia Square, Meadowbrook Street, and 16th Street before making it back to U. S. Hwy 62/412 bypass.  He then went East at very high speed on the bypass with Deputy Stanton pursuing.

The motorcycle then went East toward Lake Norfork, then turned left on Cranfield Road.  The operator wrecked the motorcycle on Cranfield Road, and then fled on foot with Deputy Stanton chasing on foot.  Both Deputy Stanton and the suspect fell down during the foot chase in the dark, but Deputy Stanton finally caught the suspect, tackled him, and took him into custody at approximately 2:55 AM.

The suspect operating the motorcycle was confirmed to be JUSTICE JACOB VASQUEZ.  He was subsequently taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:

Fleeing by Vehicle - Felony
Fleeing by Foot - Misdemeanor
Driving While Intoxicated - Misdemeanor
Reckless Driving - Misdemeanor
Violation of Restricted Driver License - Misdemeanor
Resisting Arrest - Misdemeanor
Driving While License Suspended - Misdemeanor
Violation of Probation - Misdemeanor

JUSTICE VASQUEZ remains in custody at the Detention Center in lieu of $15,000 bond.  He will appear before Circuit Court to answer on December 4th.

Deputy Stanton required a visit to Baxter Health ER for minor injuries sustained during the foot chase.
