     The Sheriff's Office is notifying the public that a new sex offender has registered with the Sheriff's Office after moving here from Georgia. 

NAME:                       MATTHEW MADDEN

DATE OF BIRTH:   05/24/1983

HOME ADDRESS:   6093 Hwy 62 West

                                    Gassville, AR 72635

     The offender was arrested on 11/6/2008 in Cherokee County, Georgia on multiple counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children.  The offender was later found guilty of two counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children on 08/04/2011 and was sentenced to five years confinement followed by fifteen years of probation.  Details of these offenses are not currently available.

     (This offender has not yet been assigned a Risk Level by SOCNA (Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment).

     This person is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.  This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.  This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Registered Sex Offenders.  Citizen abuse will not be tolerated.  Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notification.
