SHERIFF'S OFFICE RECEIVES DONATION FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES
05/05/2023
The Sheriff's Office is excited to announced that we have received an anonymous donation in the amount of $5,000.00, made through the Baxter County Sheriff's Foundation. This donation will be used to pay for a video camera surveillance system and other improvements at the Baxter County Animal Shelter. The Sheriff's Office has taken over animal control responsibilities from the County Judge's office. The animal shelter will soon be re-opening to house dogs and cats that have been seized by law enforcement and local governmental authorities in Baxter County under authority of applicable laws and ordinances.
This video equipment will help the Animal Control Wardens monitor activities at the animal shelter and help provide for a secure facility.
If anyone would like to learn more about the Baxter County Sheriff's Foundation, which is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, they may contact Sheriff John Montgomery or Chief Deputy Jeff Lewis at the Sheriff's Administration Offices.
