A Mountain Home man was arrested early this morning, September 14th, on drug possession charges after a deputy responded to a complaint call.

At approximately 1:07 AM, the Sheriff's Office received a report of a man walking in the roadway on State Highway 201 N near Baxter CR 28 who appear to be intoxicated or injured.

Sheriff's Corporal Craig Kocka was dispatched to the area.  Corporal Kocka made contact with the man, who was identified as JOHN W. FERGUSON, who was walking North on Highway 201.  Corporal Kocka asked FERGUSON where he was going, and he replied he was walking to Midway.

Sheriff's dispatch informed Corporal Kocka that JOHN FERGUSON is a probationer with a search waiver on file.  Corporal Kocka then conducted a search of FERGUSON and found a syringe filled with a clear substance.  As the search continued, FERGUSON was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine contained in a black pouch, separated into individual baggies..  The aggregate weight of the methamphetamine was approximately 37.2 grams.

JOHN W. FERGUSON, 44 years of age, was then transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:

Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose of Delivery - Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts) - Felonies

FERGUSON is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond and will appear before the Circuit Court to answer on September 19th.
