The Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for the position of Jail Sergeant in the Detention Center.  This is a mid-level supervisory position that oversees a shift of jailers.

      Applicants must have at least three (3) years of experience working in a jail or detention center, with one (1) year of prior supervisory experience.  Applicants must either be already certified as full time law enforcement officers by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) or be prepared to attend the basic training academy to obtain that certification.  

     Starting base rate of pay for the position is $18.00 per hour, which can be increased depending on prior level of experience.  There will be a 90 day probationary period of employment.  All county benefits are provided, including health insurance, state retirement system, and paid vacation and sick time.  A home storage vehicle is provided if you live in Baxter County.  Uniforms and training are provided.
