Authorities have recovered the remains of a person believed to have been consumed in a structure fire that was reported to the Baxter County 9-1-1 Center early Sunday morning, December 19th.

     At approximately 5:12 AM, a residential structure fire was reported on Old School House Trail in the Buford-Cartney area.  The residence was said to be fully engulfed in flames. 

     Area fire departments responded to the scene.  It was reported that a female may have been inside.  Investigators were called to the scene.  Human remains were later recovered from the fire scene.  They will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office in Little Rock to confirm identity.

     The cause of the fire has not been determined as of this time.
