Woman Crashes Car Into Residence with Children Inside

Wednesday, April 7th at approximately 10:10 pm, Baxter County Deputies responded to a 911 call of a vehicle that had intentionally crashed into a house on Larkspur Lane, north of Mountain Home. When Deputies arrived, they determined that the driver of the vehicle, Shannon Langevin, was the mother and grandmother of several of the people inside the residence.
Deputies and Investigators determined that the residence was a vacation rental type property and the victims, who were from Louisiana and Georgia, were staying there along with Langevin. According with victims and witnesses, Ms. Langevin arrived at the residence intoxicated and was attempting to take her grandchildren with her and leave. M. Langevin was escorted outside the residence, and according to witnesses, she got into her rental car, backed up and then purposely driving the car through two sliding glass doors. The vehicle entered the house approximately 6-feet causing extensive damage to the house. Two of Ms. Langevin's grandchildren were playing in the room that she crashed into.
Shannon Marie Langevin, age 49 of Prairieville, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with:
Aggravated Assault on a family or household member, (6 counts), Class D Felony
Aggravated Assault, (2 counts), Class D Felony
Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree, Class C Felony
Endangering the welfare of a minor, (3 counts), Class A Misdemeanor
Assault on a family member, 2nd Degree, Class B Misdemeanor
Driving While Intoxicated
Refusal of Breath Test
Reckless Driving
Driving on a Suspended DL
Shannon Marie Langevin was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and is being held on bond of $25,000 pending her appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on April 22.
