Four people were arrested this morning, November 25th, at a residence on Mockingbird Lane after officers from several agencies conducted a probation/parole home visit on the known address of parole absconder TIFFANY McGOUGH.
As officers approached the residence, an 8 year old child came outside. Through the open door, officers could see multiple people inside the residence. Once these people became aware that law enforcement was present, they began to scatter. Two people, later identified as GAVIN REED and KARA CASEY, attempted to climb out the back window of the residence and flee, but they were intercepted and detained. Another person there, identified as Parolee JOSHUA CALLAWAY, was told to come outside, but instead he barricaded himself inside a bedroom and had to be extracted therefrom.
A search of the residence uncovered drugs and drug paraphernalia in both bedrooms that were occupied. These included numerous meth pipes, meth bongs, used syringes, baggies, concealment devices, and digital scales. In the bedroom where CALLAWAY had been barricaded officers found a hole between the wall and the ceiling concealing a bag holding approximately 5.9 grams of a substances that tested positive for both methamphetamine and fentynal. Marijuana was also found.
There was a small camper on the property. Inside the camper officers found multiple items of additional drug paraphernalia. Parked outside was a 2008 Jeep Laredo that had been reported stolen to the Mountain Home Police Department on November 8th. Personal items belonging to GAVIN REED were found inside the vehicle. The vehicle had a value of $5,000.
It was also determined that two small children had both spent the prior night at the residence. The residence had no running water, and the only electricity was provided by an outside generator. There was also filth, rotting food, and clutter found throughout the residence. The children were subsequently released to the custody of their mother, who had not been present.
All four adults present were arrested and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center where they were booked and charged as follows:
