VISITATION FOR JAIL INMATES BEING TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED AS PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE
03/13/2020
Baxter Co Sheriff |
Effective Monday morning, March 16th, as a precautionary health measure, public admittance to the Baxter County Detention Center will be SUSPENDED for all of the following reasons:
· Visitation with Jail Inmates
· Clergy visits
· Church services
· Rehabilitation services (such as NA or AA)
Also, rather than personal contact, attorneys are strongly encouraged to use video means available to them to communicate with their inmate clients if possible.
This measure is being taken strictly as a precautionary measure on the advice and recommendation of the Association of Arkansas Counties Risk Management Team. We want to make it clear that there have been no issues at the Baxter County Detention Center related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and none at any Detention Facility in Arkansas that we are aware of. This decision was made strictly for the purpose of precaution and for the safety and well-being of the inmates in the Detention Center and our employees.
This suspension will remain in effect until further notice and will be lifted as soon as it is advisable to do so.
The Sheriff's Administration Offices will remain open during normal weekday business hours, and all law enforcement functions will continue as usual without interruption.
Thank you for your understanding, and we regret the inconvenience this causes.
Sheriff John Montgomery
