PROBATIONER ARRESTED ON WEAPONS AND OTHER CHARGES

A man on felony probation who authorities had been looking for since searching his residence at 188 Wild Fern Ln. on June 5th and finding drugs and other contraband there was arrested Thursday evening, June 20th.
A warrant of arrest was issued for 54 year old JAMES FLOYD LOOSEY on June 12th based upon evidence found and collected during the search of his residence. These included 23 firearms, two of which had the serial numbers defaced or removed and another of which was stolen, and various articles of drug paraphernalia.
Thursday evening the Sheriff’s Office received a report that JAMES LOOSEY had returned to the address on Wild Fern Ln and was discharging a firearm. Deputies responded and were able to apprehend LOOSEY at the house a short time later. He was transported to the Detention Center and was booked on charges specified in the arrest warrant, being:
Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons (23 counts) – Felonies
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts) – Felonies
Theft by Receiving – Felony
Defacing a Firearm – Felony
JAMES LOOSEY posted $20,000 bond and was released from custody pending an appearance in the Circuit Court on July 11th. Records indicate he has been booked into the Baxter County Jail a total of 26 times since 1999.
