Twenty-seven year old HARVEY LEE HONEYCUTT, with a last known address of Harriett, Arkansas, was arrested Thursday morning, January 24th, on a multitude of charges after deputies investigated complaints from persons residing at a house on Tucker Cemetery Road.

Deputies were first sent to the residence on January 22nd for a reported disturbance involving HONEYCUTT and people living there.  HONEYCUTT had previously been asked to leave the residence and had been living nearby in the woods in a homemade shelter.  The complaining party showed the deputy the area where HONEYCUTT had set up camp, but he was not found at that time.  A variety of miscellaneous items were found at the camp site including knives, tools, drug paraphernalia, and a number of uncashed checks.  The checks were on two different bank accounts, one from a local business and the other was from a personal account belonging to the business owners.  The checks were believed to have been placed in outgoing mail by the account holders.   The checks totaled $3,269.13.  They were seized and taken into evidence at that time.

The next day, January 23rd, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by the complainants that they owned a .22 rifle that had been taken by HONEYCUTT, a convicted felon, and they learned that the rifle had been placed into the possession of a friend of HONEYCUTT’S.  In addition, the victims in the stolen check part of the investigation confirmed to investigators that those checks had been placed in their mail box and had been stolen out of the mail box.

On January 24th, the Sheriff’s Office was informed that HONEYCUTT had gone back to the residence on Tucker Cemetery Road.  Deputies responded again, but HONEYCUTT had fled from the scene before they arrived.  A few hours later, deputies went back once again and were able to locate HONEYCUTT and take him into custody.  While searching HONEYCUTT, deputies found the driver license belonging to the complainant, as well as a debit card and a check for $700 payable to the complaint.  HONEYCUTT was also holding $240 in cash.

HARVEY LEE HONEYCUTT was transported to the Detention Center yesterday and incarcerated on charges of:

Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property (3 counts) – Felonies
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor
Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (convicted felon) – Felony

HONEYCUTT was given a bond of $20,000 on those charges and is scheduled to appear in the Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on February 7th.
