MAN REPORTS TO JAIL FOR WEEKEND SENTENCE WITH METH IN HIS POCKET

A rural Mountain Home man, 52 year old THOMAS BRUCE WHEELER, who arrived at the Baxter County Detention Center Friday evening, January 11th to serve a weekend sentence, now faces additional charges after a Jailer found methamphetamine on WHEELER.
When WHEELER arrived for the booking process, the Jailer found a glass vial in WHEELER’S pants pocket. This substance, which was less than a gram, tested positive for methamphetamine.
THOMAS WHEELER has now been charged with:
Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) – Felony
Furnishing Prohibited Articles – Felony
WHEELER was given a bond of $5,000 on these charges, however the District Court Probation Office also placed a hold on him for probation violation. He will appear in the Circuit Court to answer the new charges on January 17th. Records indicate WHEELER has been booked into the Detention Center approximately seventeen times since 2002.
