APPLICATIONS NOW ACCEPTED FOR RESERVE DEPUTY (VOLUNTEER POSITION)

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for the position of Reserve (volunteer) Deputy Sheriff. Those accepted into the program will be required to attend a 120 hour training class and volunteer a minimum of eight (8) hours of their time per month to the Sheriff's Office.
Minimum requirements include, but are not limited to:
A. Citizen of the United States and State of Arkansas.
B. Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
C. Free of any felony convictions for any offense in Arkansas or any other jurisdiction, regardless of whether the conviction may have been sealed, expunged, or pardoned.
D. Be of good character and undergo a full background investigation.
E. Be fingerprinted.
F. Successfully pass a physical examination and psychological evaluation.
G. Possess a valid Arkansas Driver License.
H. Any and all other requirements of the State of Arkansas or the Office of Sheriff's of Baxter County according to established policy.
Uniforms and badge are provided. All other needed equipment will have to be furnished by the student. Class will begin sometime in March.
Applications will be accepted at the Sheriff's Administration Offices through Friday, January 18, 2019 at 4:30 PM, after which applications will be reviewed. Select applicants who appear to meet minimum qualifications may then be interviewed.
