BREAKING OR ENTERING AND THEFT CHARGES FILED AGAINST MIDWAY MAN

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested 41 year old KEVIN EARL GRUNEWALD of Midway on felony charges related to the theft of items from a private residence where GRUNEWALD had stayed for a short period of time.
On October 28, 2018 the victims of the thefts reported to the Sheriff’s Office that various items had been stolen from their residence, including a firearm and a Belkin brand iPad holder that contained a Bluetooth keyboard with a missing key.
KEVIN GRUNEWALD was developed as a suspect in the theft in that he had stayed at the residence and had been left there alone at one time. When the victims confronted GRUNEWALD about the theft, he denied involvement and left the premises.
On Tuesday, November 20th, KEVIN GRUNEWALD offered for sale on Facebook Marketplace an iPad and keyboard case that was missing a key. On November 30th, a private individual purchased the items from GRUNEWALD and returned them to the one of the victims. The items were brought to the Sheriff’s Office, and the victim positively identified them as belong to her and as being the items stolen from the residence. The missing firearm has yet to be recovered.
A warrant was obtained for the arrest of KEVIN GRUNEWALD. He was arrested on December 13th and transported to the Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:
Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property – Felony
GRUNEWALD is being held on $7,500 bond and will appear before the Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on January 10, 2019.
