BURGLAR CAUGHT AND HELD AT GUNPOINT BY BUSINESS OWNER

CHRISTOPHER THEODORE MATTSON, 45 years old of Thornfield, Missouri, was arrested early Saturday morning, October 6th, after being caught in the process of burglarizing The Old School House Antique Mall in Midway.
The owner of the antique mall caught CHRISTOPHER MATTSON coming out of the business at approximately 4:00 AM. The store owner held MATTSON at gunpoint until a deputy arrived to take him into custody. After being caught, MATTSON pushed the store owner in the chest, and the store owner then fired a round into the ground. MATTSON offered no further resistance after that.
The door to the business had been kicked in, and an audible alarm had sounded. MATTSON damaged some articles inside the building, but then came out and was apprehended by the owner.
CHRISTOPHER MATTSON was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center by Sergeant Dwight Duch and charged with:
Commercial Burglary – Felony
Assault in the Third Degree – Misdemeanor
MATTSON is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond and will appear before the Circuit Court to answer later this month.
