MIDWAY MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF METH
09/28/2018
Harvey Lee Honeycutt |
A Midway man was arrested Thursday, September 27th, on felony drug charges after being taken into custody on a misdemeanor warrant.
Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Menschik accompanied a bail bond company agent to 7108 Hwy 126 N in Midway to attempt to locate 27 year old HARVEY LEE HONEYCUTT on the outstanding warrant, which was for failure to appear in court. HONEYCUTT came out of the residence at approximately 2:15 PM and was taken into custody by the deputy.
Once HONEYCUTT was in custody, he was searched. The deputy found five small baggies of methamphetamine in HONEYCUTT’S clothing. He was arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office and was interviewed. HONEYCUTT admitted that he had purchased the methamphetamine from another person for the purpose of resale. He was then taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:
Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) with Purpose of Delivery – Felony
Failure to Appear in Court – Misdemeanor
HARVEY HONEYCUTT’S girlfriend, SAMANTHA LAVERTY, had been arrested earlier this month on charges of felony battery of a child and child endangerment after her young child had sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. The child was also found to have been exposed to high levels of methamphetamine and cannabinoids. HONEYCUTT and LAVERTY resided together with the child in this same residence at Midway where that incident occurred.
HONEYCUTT has a bond of $5,000 on the drug charge but is being held without bond on the failure to appear warrant. He will appear in the Circuit Court to answer on October 4th and in the District Court to answer on October 9th.
