The Sheriff’s Office responded Tuesday afternoon, September 18th, to a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 850 Northpointe Drive in rural Mountain Home.  The call was received at 1:43 PM.

     Upon arrival, the victim was found to be deceased behind the house.  He had apparently shot himself in the abdomen with a rifle.  The victim was identified as 38 year old CURTIS JASON GREEN of that address.  The rifle was found nearby and taken into evidence.   The incident was reported by a family member who was home when this occurred and who told deputies that MR. GREEN had been indicating that he was planning to take his own life.

     The body of the deceased was removed by the Baxter County Coroner and is being sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

    No foul play is suspected.
