Deputies arrested 34 year old VICTORIA LYNN CARPENTER of rural Mountain Home Monday evening, July 2nd, after receiving a call of a woman standing in the middle of the highway armed with a knife.
The report was received at 7:41 PM from near 2252 Hwy 126 North in the Whiteville area. An Arkansas State Trooper was in the area and arrived first on the scene. He found the woman nearby on Baxter CR 720. After ordering her twice to drop the knife, she complied. The woman was identified as VICTORIA LYNN CARPENTER. She was said to be hysterical when officers were dealing with her.
After deputies arrived and began speaking to witnesses, it was learned that a male subject had encountered CARPENTER when she showed up at 2252 Hwy 126 North. CARPENTER pulled a knife on the man and began chasing him down the street, attempting to stab him. The man made it to another house down the street, with CARPENTER following. She was standing in the roadway in front of that residence when the ASP Trooper found her, still armed with the knife.
CARPENTER refused to give a statement or provide an explanation for her conduct. VICTORIA CARPENTER was placed under arrest and transported to the Detention Center where she was incarcerated on charges of:
Aggravated Assault – Felony
Disorderly Conduct – Misdemeanor
She is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond and will appear before the Circuit Court to answer on July 12th.
