The Baxter County Sheriff's Office is seeking applications from certified officers for the full time position of School Resource/DARE Officer (SRO).  Applicants must be already certified for full time law enforcement employment through the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) or possess out of state equivalency certification.

     The SRO will be assigned to work in the public school system and will be responsible for providing DARE classes and instruction to students.  The SRO will be responsible for maintaining order and security on campus and for the safety and welfare of all students, faculty, administration, and visitors. 

     When called upon to do so, the SRO will be expected to perform any and all duties and responsibilities generally and customarily associated with full service law enforcement positions.   A complete job description is available on request form the Sheriff's Administration Offices.
