CALIFORNIA MAN ARRESTED IN COTTER ON DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES

A Nevada City, California man, 57 year old CRAIG RICHARD WHITTINGSLOW, was arrested Thursday afternoon, May 17th, when officers served a search warrant at 740 Denton Ferry Road in Cotter, Arkansas. The warrant was obtained based upon information developed by officers through investigative means.
During the search, officers found approximately 13 pounds of high grade marijuana with an estimated street value in excess of $100,000. Also seized were a large sum of cash, numerous firearms, a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a 2011 American Coach motor home. The total value of the seized drugs and assets is estimated to be nearly $500,000. The drugs were packed with an odor absorbing powder and were stored in a charcoal lined duffel bag to absorb odor.
It is believed that CRAIG WHITTINGSLOW arrived in this area on May 16th. He was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:
Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms – Felony
WHITTINGSLOW is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond on these charges and is scheduled to appear before the Circuit Court to answer on June 21st. He is also being held in custody for federal authorities.
Agencies involved in the investigation and arrest were the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.
