Midway Woman Arrested for Aggravated Assault

On 3/21/2018 at 10:36 PM, Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Munson responded to a 911 of a domestic type disturbance at 7108 State Highway 126 North # 9. The victim stated he had been stabbed.
Upon arriving at the address Deputy Tracy Munson made contact with the suspect who originally denied him access. Due to the nature of the 911 call, Deputy Tracy Munson was able to gain access to the residence and found the victim sitting in a chair holding his leg with blood soaking through his jeans. Deputy Munson seized a knife that had blood on it clipped to the suspect’s front pocket.
The victim who lives with the suspect, stated that the two had been in an argument when the suspect, Melissa Goodman pulled a knife from her pocket and started waving it around and started stabbing the victim in the leg.
The suspect, 42 year old Melissa Ann Goodman of Midway was taken into custody and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center. Goodman is charged with:
Aggravated assault family or household member, a class D felony
Parole Violation
Goodman is currently being held on $25,000 bond on the Aggravated Assault Charge and No Bond on the Parole Violation Charge, pending her appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on April 12, 2018 at 1 pm.
