RECKLESS DRIVER COMPLAINT LEADS TO ARREST ON DRUG AND TRAFFIC CHARGES

A Pomona, Missouri man, 49 year old HARRY LEE SHAFFER, was arrested this afternoon, March 6, 2018, on drug charges and traffic charges after he was pulled over because of a reckless driving complaint.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 12:34 PM reporting a reckless driver on State Highway 126 N in a maroon 2002 Chevrolet Ventura van. Sheriff’s Corporal Kristofer Savino was in the area and located the vehicle. He conducted a traffic stop on Baxter CR 7, just off State Highway 126. The vehicle was driven by HARRY SHAFFER.
After conducting an inquiry, it was determined that SHAFFER did not have a driver license or insurance on the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was also in plain view. A subsequent search uncovered a small amount of methamphetamine, some hydrocodone pills, and articles of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on SHAFFER’S person.
HARRY LEE SHAFFER was arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:
Possession Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver (methamphetamine) – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance (hydrocodone) – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Careless Driving – Misdemeanor
No Driver License – Misdemeanor
No Seat Belt – Misdemeanor
No Liability Insurance – Misdemeanor
Fictitious Vehicle License – Misdemeanor
SHAFFER is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond and will appear in Circuit Court to answer on Thursday.
