LOCAL WOMAN ARRESTED ONCE AGAIN ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGES

     A joint investigation by local law enforcement agencies has once again resulted in the arrest of 52 year old REBECCA MARIE MARTIN of rural Mountain Home on methamphetamine charges. MARTIN was arrested and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Wednesday, September 27th, when officers served a search warrant at her residence at 502 CR 30.

     REBECCA MARTIN sold methamphetamine twice in May, 2017 to an informant working with investigators.  On May 5, 2017 she sold approximately 26.2 grams of methamphetamine and on May 26, 2017 she sold approximately .5 gram of methamphetamine.  Each of these transactions was monitored and recorded by investigators.  A cellular telephone was used to facilitate the transactions, and the first one took place within 1,000 feet of the office where Drug Court is conducted.

     During the service of the search warrant yesterday, investigators found and seized various articles of drug paraphernalia associated with the sale of methamphetamine.

     REBECCA MARTIN was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:

Delivery of Methamphetamine (2 counts) – Felonies
Unlawful Use of Communications Device (2 counts) – Felonies
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts) – Felonies
Proximity to Certain Facilities – Penalty Enhancement
Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement

     MARTIN is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond on the new charges and will appear in Circuit Court on October 19th to answer these charges. MARTIN has been booked into the Baxter County Detention Center a total of 13 times since 1999 and was currently out on bond awaiting trial on a previous drug arrest from March, 2017.

     Agencies involved in the investigation, service of the search warrant, and the arrest of REBECCA MARTIN were the Sheriff’s Office, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Mountain Home Police Department, and the Arkansas State Police.
