TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST ON DRUG CHARGES

CONNIE RENEE WILLIAMS, 32 years old of Midway, Arkansas, was arrested early this morning on drug possession charges after being pulled over for expired vehicle license.
Sheriff’s Corporal Rockie Morrell stopped WILLIAMS on Highway 5 North after observing that the dealer tags on the 2005 Ford Focus she was driving had expired. WILLIAMS could not produce a driver license, and Corporal Morrell subsequently learned that WILLIAMS was suspended and also had outstanding arrest warrants for Failure to Appear.
CONNIE WILLIAMS was arrested and taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, Corporal Morrell found approximately 0.4 grams of methamphetamine, 25 acetaminophen/propoxyphene tablets, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
CONNIE RENEE WILLIAMS was transported to the Detention Center and booked in at 3:30 AM on charges of:
Failure to Appear – 2 outstanding warrants
Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) - Felony
Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Driving While License Suspended – Misdemeanor
Expired Vehicle License – Misdemeanor
WILLIAMS remains in custody in lieu of $6,220 bond. She will appear in Circuit Court to answer on April 27th and in District Court on May 25th.
