Steven Bruce Hutton |
An arrest has been made in connection with a residential burglary that was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on December 21, 2016 on Baxter CR 577.
Entry into the residence was made by a 2 x 4 board that had been thrown through the living room window, and the door leading in from the garage had been kicked open.
The homeowner reported the theft of five Glock pistols from the residence, as well as numerous medications. The serial numbers of the stolen firearms were entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database and were also later checked through the LeadsOnline reporting system used by pawn shops and pawn brokers.
The LeadsOnline system found where two of the stolen firearms had been pawned by STEVEN BRUCE HUTTON at a jewelry and pawn shop in Springfield, Missouri on the same day that the burglary occurred. Additional items were pawned on December 24, 2016 at a pawn shop in Daytona Beach, Florida by the same person.
The victim advised investigators that he knew STEVEN HUTTON, who had been in his home in the past. Investigators obtained a bench warrant for the arrest of STEVEN BRUCE HUTTON, and the warrant was entered into NCIC. HUTTON, 56 years old with an address in Halfway, Missouri, was arrested on March 29th in Bolivar, Missouri (Polk County) on the outstanding Baxter County warrant. He was extradited on the warrant yesterday, April 3rd, and has been incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of:
Residential Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property (7 counts) – Felonies
HUTTON is being held in lieu of $35,000 bond, and he will appear in Circuit Court to answer on April 13th.
