ARREST MADE ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CALL IN COTTER

A Cotter man, 26 year old CLAYTON ELLIOTT HATCHET, was arrested Thursday afternoon, March 16th, on charges related to domestic violence.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 3:18 PM reporting a domestic disturbance in progress at 107 Harding Blvd. in Cotter. Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the City of Gassville Police Department responded to the scene. They made contact with CLAYTON HATCHET, who had a .40 cal Glock on his person. The weapon was secured, and officers then proceeded to make contact with the other party involved in the dispute, being HATCHET’s girlfriend.
The other party gave officers a written statement saying that HATCHET had pushed her out the door and banged her face off the door. She then alleged that HATCHET had made verbal threats against her with respect to the handgun he was carrying.
CLAYTON ELLIOTT HATCHET was arrested and transported to the Detention Center. He was booked on charges of:
Terroristic Threatening – Felony
Domestic Battery in the Third Degree – Misdemeanor
HATCHET was released from custody after posting $5,000 bond, and he will appear in the Circuit Court to answer on March 23rd.
