Aaron Ray Ashworth |
Following an investigation into a burglary that was reported from 11 Hunt Club Drive on January 8, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested 26 year old AARON RAY ASHWORTH of rural Mountain Home on charges related to that incident.
The victim from the burglary reported to the Sheriff’s Office that his child’s Xbox 1 gaming device was discovered missing from a downstairs bedroom. When examining the victim’s room, a dirty footprint and dirt debris was observed in the floor, just inside the doorway leading to a common area.
Deputies took the report, including the serial number of the gaming device that was stolen. The Xbox 1 device was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as a stolen article. On February 16, 2017, the Xbox device was pawned at a local pawn shop, and notice of that transaction was sent to the Sheriff’s Office. The pawn shop indicated that the man who pawned the device was accompanied by AARON RAY ASHWORTH and had asked the pawn shop to allow ASHWORTH to redeem the Xbox device for him at a later date.
Investigators later interviewed another person who was believed to have knowledge of the incident. This person told investigators that ASHWORTH had entered into the victim’s home and stole the Xbox device approximately four days before the victim had reported it to be missing. ASHWORTH was also interviewed by investigators, but he refused to answer questions.
AARON RAY ASHWORTH was arrested and booked into the Detention Center on charges of:
Residential Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor
An initial bond of $25,000 was set for these charges, and ASHWORTH was scheduled to make an appearance today in Baxter County Circuit Court.
