EARLY MORNING DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE RESULTS IN ONE ARREST

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance this morning at 899 Blue Wing Road and made one arrest.
At approximately 7:54 AM, a call was received from a woman stating that her husband had threatened to kill her and then kill himself. The woman was able to leave the residence on her own accord and awaited the arrival of deputies a short distance away.
The suspect was said to be armed with a handgun and had locked himself inside the residence. Deputies were on scene for approximately one hour before being able to coax the suspect to come to the door and be taken into custody.
TOM A. TURNER, 61 years of age, was subsequently arrested at the residence and then transported to the Detention Center. He was booked a misdemeanor charge of Assault on a Family or Household Member in the Third Degree and served with a No Contact Order prohibiting him from having further contact with the victim. TURNER has a bond of $500 and will appear in the District Court to answer on March 30th.
