SHERIFF'S OFFICE HAD MODERATELY BUSY HOLIDAY WEEKEND

The Sheriff’s Office had a moderately busy Christmas holiday weekend with respect to complaint calls and calls for service. During the period of Friday, December 23rd through Monday, December 26th, the Sheriff’s Office handled a total of 91 calls in its jurisdiction.
There were a total of 18 people booked into the Baxter County Detention Center during that same period by all law enforcement agencies on 32 separate charges. Among those charges were:
Aggravated Assault on Family Member – 1
Residential Burglary – 1
Minor in Possession of Alcohol – 5
Drug Paraphernalia Possession – 2
Warrants of Arrest served -14
In addition to those, Sheriff’s Deputies issued 5 citations for traffic offenses or criminal misdemeanors, as well as issuing 7 warnings for traffic violations. There were no other serious incidents reported during this period.
