The Sheriff’s Office was called to an unattended death from a gunshot wound this morning at 494 CR 995.  The 911 Center received a call at approximately 5:29 AM from a man reporting that when he arrived home at that address this morning, he found a house guest to be deceased on the floor from an apparent gunshot wound. 

     When deputies arrived on scene, they found a man lying in the living room floor who was deceased from a gunshot wound to his head.  Investigators found a .45 caliber pistol on the floor next to the victim, who is being identified as 31 year old MICHAEL JONES of Mountain Home. 

     Sheriff’s Investigators believe the gunshot to be self-inflicted and are investigating the matter as a suicide.  The body of the deceased is being sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for autopsy.  The case remains open pending those results.
