The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that a generous cash donation has been received by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc.  from a citizen who wishes to remain anonymous.  The Sheriff’s Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was formed in 2009 as a support organization for the Sheriff’s Office and its employees. 

     The Sheriff’s Foundation is governed by a nine member volunteer Board of Directors.  The Directors serve without any pay or compensation.  The purposes of the Sheriff’ Foundation are to provide financial support beyond the scope of the Sheriff’s Office normal operating budget in areas such as specialized equipment and technologies, to provide assistance with the professional development of deputies and employees of the Office of Sheriff, and to provide college scholarship opportunities for employees and their dependents. 

     This particular donation was in the amount of $10,000.  This tax deductible donation will be used in support of the stated purposes and objectives of the Sheriff’s Foundation.  Both the Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff’s Foundation genuinely appreciate the continual support shown by members of this community.
