DEPUTY MAKES ARREST FOR METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION

JAMIE LEE SOUTHARD, 24 years old of Calico Rock, Arkansas, was arrested Saturday evening, September 24th, by Sheriff’s Corporal Rockie Morrell on drug charges during a vehicle stop.
Corporal Morrell stopped SOUTHARD at approximately 10:14 PM on U. S. Highway 62 West for an equipment violation. After making contact with and speaking with SOUTHARD for a period of time, Corporal Morrell was able to conduct a search of the vehicle after having SOUTHARD step out. During the course of the search, approximately 2.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located in the vehicle together with glass smoking pipes and plastic baggies contained residue.
JAMIE LEE SOUTHARD was taken into custody and transported to the Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:
Possession of Controlled Substance ( Methamphetamine) – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Defective Equipment – Misdemeanor
No Liability Insurance – Misdemeanor
Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement
SOUTHARD is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on October 6th.
