     Three people were arrested Wednesday morning, September 7th, when Sheriff’s Investigators and other officers conducted a search of a residence at 4271 Buzzard Roost Rd. where a parolee was said to be staying.  The actual owner of the residence, IAN TICE, is an inmate in the Baxter County Detention Center.  It was reported to investigators that parolee MICHAEL SCUDDER and two other people have been staying at the residence without the permission of the owner.  In addition to being a parolee, SCUDDER had an outstanding drug warrant for his arrest.

     Investigators arrived at the residence at 11:00 AM, located SCUDDER, and immediately took him into custody.  On SCUDDER’s person, investigators found approximately .7 grams of methamphetamine.  A search of his living area uncovered two handguns, ammunition, and various drug paraphernalia including syringes, scales, spoons, and baggies. 

     Also located on the property in a camper trailer were SCOTT FROIT and JANA BRIGMAN.  After a brief standoff, both of them surrendered and were taken into custody.  Investigators found 41 Clonazepam pills and various drug paraphernalia inside this camper trailer.

     During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the electricity had been shut off to the property, however the camper had power.  North Arkansas Electric Coop was contacted and sent a technician to the property.  It was discovered that the meter and wiring had been tampered with, and electricity to the property was being obtained illegally.

     Investigators made arrests on the following charges:

MICHAEL SCUDDER, 41 year old of rural Mountain Home, charged with:

Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose of Delivery – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts) – Felonies
Weapons Possession During Controlled Substance Offense – Felony
Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (convicted felon) – Felony
Damaging Wires and Fixtures of Utility Providers – Felony
Theft of Services – Misdemeanor
Criminal Trespass – Misdemeanor
Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement
Parole Violation – Felony
Outstanding Felony Bench Warrant – Drug Offenses

     SCUDDER is being held in lieu of $35,000 bond on the new charges and the bench warrant, but with no bond on the parole violation hold.  He will appear in Circuit Court to answer on September 22.

SCOTT LYNN FROIT, 46 years old of rural Mountain Home, charged with:

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Purpose of Delivery – Felony
Damaging Wires and Fixtures of Utility Providers – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Theft of Services – Misdemeanor

     FROIT was released from custody after posting $3,500 bond.  He will appear in the Circuit Court to answer on September 22.

JANA JEAN BRIGMAN, 49 years old of rural Mountain Home, charged with:

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Purpose of Delivery – Felony
Damaging Wires and Fixtures of Utility Providers – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Theft of Services – Misdemeanor
Failure to Appear – Outstanding Warrant

     She was released from custody after posting $4,040 bond, and she will also appear in Circuit Court to answer on September 22.
