Two Baxter County residents were arrested Wednesday, August 10th, on several charges while Sheriff’s Investigators were searching for 30 year old WILLIAM JOSHUA LEWIS of Gassville because of an outstanding felony drug warrant for his arrest. The outstanding warrant had been obtained by the City of Norfork Police Department after it discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle he had been a passenger in during a vehicle stop that occurred in Norfork during the past few weeks.
Authorities went to an address in the Jordan area on August 8th while looking for WILLIAM LEWIS and encountered 30 year old SARAH MARIE LYNN at the residence. She denied that WILLIAM LEWIS was at the residence and stated she had not seen him in several weeks.
Two days later on August 10th, authorities returned to the same address and again encountered SARAH LYNN. She once again informed authorities that WILLIAM LEWIS was not there. On this occasion, an officer with the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections entered into the residence on a probation home search and found WILLIAM LEWIS in the bathroom. He was in the process of flushing controlled substances down the sink.
Both WILLIAM LEWIS and SARAH LYNN were taken into custody at this point. During a search of the residence, officers found 15 pills that were deemed to be a combination of acetaminophen and codeine phosphate, a schedule II controlled substance. They also found various articles of drug paraphernalia, including multiple smoking devices containing methamphetamine residue, multiple butane and propane touches, and a used syringe. In addition, a 9mm handgun was found.
