MOUNTAIN HOME MAN ARRESTED ON FORGERY WARRANT

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 29 year old Mountain Home man, LAWRENCE MARSHALL JONES, on a felony charge of Forgery following an investigation into a fraudulent check he cashed at a Mountain Home Pawn Shop.
On June 9th, a representative of the pawn shop came to the Sheriff’s Office to report that LAWRENCE JONES had brought in a check in the amount of $2,200 that he wanted to cash. The check was on a business from Houston, Texas, and JONES stated the check was for proceeds from stock transactions.
The check was subsequently found to be fraudulent and a forgery, and it was subsequently returned unpaid.
A warrant of arrest was obtained by LAWRENCE JONES, and he was arrested yesterday, July 27th, and booked into the Detention Center. He was released after posting $5,000 bond through a bail bond company. He will appear in the Circuit Court to answer today.
