DEPUTY ARRESTS MAN FOR UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A SCHOOL BUS

A rural Mountain Home man, 35 year old JEREMY DOUGLAS ESTES, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning, May 5th, after a complaint was received from a Mountain Home School bus driver stating that ESTES had entered the bus for the purpose of confronting the driver about an issue and refused to get back off.
Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Davis arrived at the scene at 37 Spring Lake Drive at approximately 6:51 AM. After conducting an investigation, JEREMY ESTES was arrested and taken into custody on misdemeanor charges of Unlawful Entry of a School Bus and Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the Detention Center and was released after posting $720 bond. He will appear in the District Court to answer on May 12th.
Arkansas Code 5-39-214 makes it unlawful for any person over 18 years of age to:
- Enter a school bus with the intent to commit a criminal offense;
- Enter a school bus and disregard an order or instruction of the driver;
- Enters a school bus and refuses to leave the school bus after being ordered to leave by the driver.
Violation of this code is punishable as a Class B Misdemeanor.
