Wanda Joyce Irby |
A Mountain Home woman, 60 year old WANDA JOYCE IRBY, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, February 9th, on charges related to the theft of narcotics from a woman she had been taking care of in her capacity as a nurse’s aid.
The Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on January 29th from a man who reported that his mother’s hydrocodone medication would come up missing from time to time and he suspected a nurse’s aid who would come to the residence. He installed a clandestine closed circuit camera system in the residence. On January 26th, the camera recorded video of WANDA IRBY taking the hydrocodone pills from the prescription bottle. According to the victim, when IRBY left the residence for the day the prescription bottle was empty.
During a subsequent interview with an investigator, WANDA IRBY admitted to stealing hydrocodone medication from the victim on at least two separate occasions.
WANDA IRBY was booked into the detention center on charges of:
Controlled Substances – Fraudulent Practices – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor
She was later released from custody after posting bond in the amount of $7,500. She will appear in the Circuit Court to answer on February 11th.
